This session was extra special for two reasons. Not only were Sherida and Bob celebrating their recent engagement, but they were also visiting New Zealand from the United States on their very first trip.

Wanting to remember this exciting chapter of their lives, they booked a couples session while they were here, and I was so excited to be the one to capture it.

Things didn't quite go to plan on the day, though. Their Uber was cancelled three times before they were finally able to get one, meaning they arrived around 30 minutes late. With dinner reservations at the Sky Tower they couldn't extend the session, so instead of the hour we had planned, we had just 15–20 minutes together.

Rather than worrying about what we couldn't do, we made the most of the time we had. We explored the gardens, worked quickly, and captured a beautiful collection of images that perfectly reflected their love and excitement. While there were plenty more ideas I would have loved to try, I'm so proud of everything we created in such a short amount of time.

It was such an honour to capture these memories for them. Hearing about their love story, their travels, and sharing a small part of their New Zealand adventure made this session one I'll always remember. Their connection was effortless, genuine, and an absolute joy to photograph.
