The Winter Gardens and Auckland Museum provided the perfect backdrop for this beautiful maternity session, creating a timeless setting to celebrate such an exciting chapter in this couple's journey.

Captured on a beautiful day in July, we were incredibly lucky with the weather. The soft winter light and peaceful surroundings made for the perfect conditions, allowing us to explore some of my favourite locations around the gardens and museum while creating a gallery full of variety.

One of the reasons I love photographing at the Winter Gardens is the incredible range of backdrops all within a short walk. From the lush greenery and elegant glasshouses to the beautiful architecture surrounding the museum, every corner offers something different. It means every gallery has its own unique feel while still showcasing the beauty of the location.

These two were so relaxed throughout the session, making it easy to capture genuine moments of excitement as they counted down the final weeks before meeting their little one. Their connection, laughter, and anticipation were a joy to photograph, and it made choosing my favourite images afterwards almost impossible.

Before long, they'll be holding their baby in their arms, but these photographs will always take them back to this beautiful season of waiting and dreaming about the exciting journey ahead.
