This was Hunter’s very first birthday session  and it made it even more special knowing how long I’ve been photographing this beautiful family.

I’ve captured many family sessions for them over the years, and while we had planned to do birthday photos for Hunter’s 6th birthday, he just wasn’t feeling it on the day  which is always completely okay. This year was different though. He was excited, asked for his own session, and was totally into the experience from start to finish.

With Auckland’s weather doing what it does best — rain, sun, rain, sun — we chose to do a relaxed home session. Most of the images were captured indoors, with a few sweet moments in the garden between showers.

We captured beautiful individual portraits of Hunter, along with special images of him with his younger brother, and family photos with mum, dad, and granny. A session full of connection, personality, and genuine moments  exactly what birthday sessions should be about.
