Mini sessions are 20-minute sessions designed to be quick, easy, and perfect for those wanting just a few photos and a shorter experience.

For each mini session, I have a full plan in place to make sure we get the best possible images within the time available. I choose locations with the best spots close together so we don’t lose time walking, and I come prepared with poses and ideas that work well for you and anyone attending the session.

The effectiveness of a mini session relies heavily on the photographer being organised — but there are also a few things you can do to help ensure you get the most out of your session.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Mini Session

1. Arrive early

Aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time. This gives you enough time to park, walk to the meeting spot, and be completely ready to start as soon as your session begins.

2. Prepare for your session

Make sure outfits are chosen the day before (or earlier). If you have kids, talk to them about the session and let them know what we’ll be doing. This helps them feel prepared and often makes the session start much more smoothly.

3. Communicate with me beforehand

Let me know if there’s anything specific you’re hoping to capture, or anything I should be aware of that will help me guide you through the session as effectively as possible.

4. Be realistic about what can be captured in 20 minutes

Mini sessions are short and sweet. If you’re wanting a large variety of images, or if your kids take a little longer to warm up to the camera or being around someone new, a full session may be a better option to allow time for this.
