When people think about family photos, they often picture everyone looking at the camera, smiling perfectly.
And while we absolutely capture those moments, they’re often not the ones that mean the most.
It’s the in-between moments that really tell your story.
The way your child reaches for your hand.
The giggles after a tickle.
The cuddles in between shots.
The way your little one hides into you when they feel shy.
These are the moments that can’t be forced or posed they just happen.
And that’s exactly why they’re so special.
During your session, I’m not just focused on getting everyone to “smile nicely.” I’m watching for connection. I’m paying attention to how your family naturally interacts, the little habits, the tiny gestures that make your family yours.
Because years from now, those are the moments that will take you straight back.
Not just to how you looked but how it felt.
The chaos, the laughter, the cuddles, the realness of it all.
Sometimes these moments happen in between the “planned” photos. Sometimes they happen when your child is doing their own thing, or when you think nothing is being captured at all.
But those are often the images that end up being favourites.
The ones that feel the most honest. The most emotional. The most you.
So if your session feels a little playful, a little messy, or not perfectly put together that’s not something to worry about.
That’s where the magic is.
