Some stories become more special each time you get to tell them—and this beautiful family is one of those. This was my third time capturing them, and it feels like such a gift to be welcomed back again and again to freeze time for them.

We first met during their maternity session, when they were still just the two of them—excited, expectant, and glowing with love for the little one they were about to meet. A few months later, I had the honour of photographing them again with their brand-new baby girl, just three months old and already the light of their lives.

Now, here we are at ten months. A curious, smiley little soul who’s growing so quickly. And the most beautiful part? We returned to the same location as that original maternity session and recreated a few of the photos—but this time with their daughter in their arms. What was once a photo full of anticipation has now become one full of presence.

This session was a gentle, joy-filled celebration of growth, connection, and how much can change in less than a year. Watching them evolve from expectant parents to seasoned, confident ones is something I’ll never take for granted.

Being able to document each chapter is what Memories with Mel is all about. I feel incredibly lucky to walk alongside families like this one, capturing their moments as they grow—and I hope to keep telling this story for many years to come.
